Absolutely great, June 26, 2009 This review is from: South Shore Furniture, Crystal Collection, Twin Mates Bed 39", Pure White (Kitchen) I purchased two of these beds for my two children - 2 year and 4 year old. The bed is great and so is the price of around $150 with free shipping to your door - I searched many websites and the alternatives to this product seemed much more expensive and free shipping was not always available. Toysrus also offers this product BUT you need to pick up yourself. The bed is quite heavy and thus very sturdy. It is easy to put together. There are three drawers which are very easy to open and quite large. They are very handy for storing children's clothing and toys.
In addition, behind the three drawers there is more empty space which we used for storing seasonal clothes and other items. If you are short on storage space, you will love it.
Amazon was super diligent and responsive when I had to retun one of the beds because one of the pieces was broken. The replacement was delivered very fast at no expense to us.

Time to move up to a big girl bed. It took me about a half an hour to put together. Now I hate ordering furniture because it could get damaged in shipping. Also I hate furniture that you have to put together, just seems cheap to me. I have to say all around this was a good buy. I have a head bord and a dresser coming as well. My daughter love's it and it's nice to have storage right there under the bed. The drawers open and close with no problems, not hard at all. The trick is to make sure every thing is square. I also use a little wood glue any time i have to put together furniture, helps make it a little stronger.

It was cheaper last year, so it was a good value. Since I read instructions and my husband doesn't, he took the kids somewhere so I would have uninterrupted time to assemble the bed. It took me a few hours to put it all together. The large board that goes under the mattress was damaged, as well as one of the boards for the bottom of the drawer. South Shore shipped me replacements at no charge. The three drawers come in handy to store toys, art items, even shoes. It's important to note that the depth of the drawers are only slightly more than half the depth of the bed. You can still store additional items under the bed, but just not in the drawer. The bed has held up well even though my kids occasionally jump on it. Unfortunately, one of the crystal knobs came apart from the stem, so it's difficult to open the drawer. I will need to find a replacement. All in all, it is a functional and attractive bed.
